Heritage Corridor Bayou Trails
The Heritage Corridor Bayou Trail consists of an east and west segments along White Oak Bayou. The Heritage Corridor West begins at Stude Park in the Heights and traverses east along White Oak Bayou to Buffalo Bayou at Lockwood. The trail will provide over 6 miles of linear park on the banks of the Buffalo with a 10-foot wide bicyclist and pedestrian trail. Currently under construction, the Heritage Corridor Bayou West Trail will connect to the MKT Trail at Spring Street, extending into Downtown and connecting to the Heritage East trail at San Jacinto. The Heritage Corridor East trail was completed in early 2011.
The Heritage Corridor offers recreation and transportation opportunities, as this bikeway corridor will provide direct access into Downtown Houston and the University of Houston Downtown campus, connecting to the historic McKee Street Bridge, Tony Moron Park, and the eastside of Downtown. The trail is located in Key Map grids 493 B, C, E, F, G, L, & M; and 494 J, K & L.
